Location/Address and opening timings
The Museum is located at Garden Avenue, Shakarparian, Islamabad. It is open for visitors, Thursday to Tuesday, from 09:30 to 16:30 hrs without break. Wednesday is weekly off and there is a prayer break on every Friday from 12:30 to 14:00 hrs.
National Art Gallery in Islamabad
National Art Gallery in Islamabad Pakistan is a newly established art gallery in the capital city islamabad. The National Art Gallery with a covered area of 1800 square yards, has 14 galleries with adjacent display areas, lecture halls, workshop and storage facilities, laboratories and library.
The modernistic brick cube, built by architects Naeem Pasha and Suhail Abbasi, is a model of Miesian purity and functionality. The four-storey gallery has modern facilities, having an auditorium with capacity for 400, a theatre, stage facilities and an open air theatre.In a nation-wide design contest in 1989, the design of Messrs Suhail and Pasha was selected for the construction of gallery.
It is opened to the public on Sunday, August 26, 2007. It is built on a small hillock opposite the Majlis-e-Shoora (the Parliament of Pakistan) and the Aiwan-e-Sadr. |
